Phone and Internet Outage at RVS Schools

As of 4:45 p.m., Oct. 2, 2024, RVS continues to experience technical issues impacting phones and the Internet at all schools due to a fibre optic cable being cut near Calgary. Schools remain open and classes will continue without Internet access. For urgent messages, parents/guardians can contact the school principal and/or assistant principal through email which will be received on their phones. An email has been sent to all RVS families with more information.

Child Development Advisor

My name is Hannah Fiegen and I am the Child Development Advisor for Coopers Crossing School.

I really enjoy getting to know all of the students as I visit classrooms, go out for recess, run clubs, and plan school-wide events.

As a CDA, it is important to me that all students learn and acquire character and leadership skills, problem-solving and resiliency skills, friendship and social skills, and how to take care of themselves physically, socially and emotionally.

Some of the programs and supports that I provide include, Breakfast Program, Bully Awareness and interventions, Conflict resolution, Friendship groups, Mind-Up, Building Mental Wellness, Zones of Regulation, Social Thinking, Grade 3-5 Leadership, Student-led clubs, Character education, and Self-esteem building.

Kids spend a lot of time at school, and I believe that it should be a safe and comfortable place for them. If they are feeling worried or stressed for any reason at school, there is always a solution, and I am available to help by meeting and making a plan with the student. My door is always open to students, staff, and parents to discuss concerns or celebrate successes.

My availability is 7:30 - 3:00  Monday - Thursdays.  I can be reached by phone (403-945-4137) or email: hfiegen@rockyview.ab.ca

Land Acknowledgment
