Principal's Message

Principal's Message

I am thrilled to be joining the Cooper’s Crossing School community as your new principal! From the moment I first walked through the doors, I could feel the warmth, energy, and kindness that make this school such a special place. Whether you are a returning family or new to our community, I’m so excited to learn, grow, and celebrate together this year.

At Cooper's Crossing, we believe in creating a learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and inspired to achieve their best. Our motto, “Caring to Make a Difference,” reflects our shared desire to make a positive impact on one another, our community, and our world.

Our dedicated educators work to provide high-quality instruction that fosters academic excellence while nurturing personal growth and well-being. Through Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports (PBIS), we learn and model the importance of being SAFE, KIND, and RESPONSIBLE in every space of the school. Students take pride in these values — sometimes even earning a “Gotcha!” ticket for showing them in action.

As your principal, I believe relationships are the foundation of a thriving school. My door is always open, and I want the principal’s office to be a place you want to visit — a space for connection, celebration, and problem-solving together. Whether you’re stopping by to share good news, ask a question, or just say hello, you are welcome here.

We will also continue to grow as a community by focusing on important character traits such as grit, creativity, kindness, and perseverance. These values, along with our goals of advancing numeracy and literacy, fostering a sense of global citizenship, and creating a safe and inclusive environment, will guide our work this year.

I am truly looking forward to building strong partnerships with students, families, and staff as we work together to make Cooper’s Crossing the best it can be. Please stay connected through our weekly newsletter and by getting involved in the many activities and events throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Steadman
Principal, Cooper’s Crossing School
