Phone and Internet Outage at RVS Schools

As of 4:45 p.m., Oct. 2, 2024, RVS continues to experience technical issues impacting phones and the Internet at all schools due to a fibre optic cable being cut near Calgary. Schools remain open and classes will continue without Internet access. For urgent messages, parents/guardians can contact the school principal and/or assistant principal through email which will be received on their phones. Principal's Message

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to another school year at Cooper's Crossing School. Whether you're a returning student, parent, or staff member, or if you're new to our community, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the vibrant spirit and commitment you bring to our school.

At Cooper's Crossing, we believe in fostering a learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and inspired to achieve their best. Our motto of, “Caring To Make A Difference,” exemplifies our desire to impact one another, our school, our community, and the environment positively. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to providing a high-quality education that promotes academic excellence while nurturing the personal growth and well-being of each student. Cooper’s students and staff practice Positive Behaviour Supports and Interventions (PBIS) as a school to learn proactive skills that help us demonstrate being SAFE, KIND, and RESPONSIBLE. Such positive behaviour expectations help guide our students in making great choices in every space of the school. Students love to celebrate their efforts to be safe, kind, and responsible and may even receive a “Gotcha!” ticket for demonstrating these traits. Cooper’s Crossing staff are energetic and dedicated to supporting students in growing these leadership and learning skills.

We also learn and practice positive character traits each month and celebrate our ability to demonstrate them at school and in our community. Developing traits such as grit, creativity, kindness, and perseverance in class, at recess, while working with our community, and celebrating these traits at special events and assemblies makes our students feel proud of their impact upon others and the world around them.

Our school goals of advancing students’ numeracy and literacy skills, increasing students’ sense of purpose as members of the global community, and fostering a safe, healthy and inclusive environment help propel us to achieve excellence. Most of all, we have wonderful students who are engaged in their learning and we are supported by caring parents who work closely with us to help students to progress, stay connected, and learn the skills they will need as citizens of Airdrie and the world.

I encourage you to get involved and stay informed. Follow our school newsletter for the latest news and updates each week. Your active participation is key to our collective success, and we value your feedback as we work together to make Cooper’s Crossing School the best it can be.

Kind regards,

Diana Logan

Principal, Cooper's Crossing School
